why on earth all the games for BUNPI! today are having CAPLOCKed titles?
well I actually wanted to have more than 2 posts today but it is quite late already and I have to wake up quite early.

Not a fan of purple shades but hell yeah STEALER from Winged doom is looking gorgeous! Despite of boring theme of dystopian society with all those cool far future thingies, IMHO this game will win the audience like what Bastion did with its beautiful presentation.

It might be kind of unfair to see this write up about a game that seems fairly okay yet beautiful. Well, I am not a fan of pretty things too, it is just the level of good graphic (pixels) design to depict a great atmosphere is amazing. Some says Canabalt art style is similar, but I guess the details in this game is what makes it distinctive. Some says it feels like Flashback, well I guess that is the point but is presented in another style that is again quite distinctive. This game somehow IMHO looks pretty original, suprisingly.

On the other aspect, this game is somewhat not following the archetype of cyberpunk games which are probably either action platforming or point-click adventure. The developer decided to have mechanic that is similar to suteF or Limbo which is a fairly good decision. Emphasizing on letting the audience take their time in the game while showing off the visual aspect of the game is probably the best way to enjoy this game.

The title is however is kind of not standing out.

it struck to my mind that Flashback was actually my professor choice of game as an example for good platforming and story telling.

I admit that the noble duty that they had been carried through to revive arcade genre is touching. Yet, almost none interests me really besides overrated Super Crate Box which is still quite clever. Luftrausers, IMHO, the most interesting and I guess, is the next big thing from vlambeer. 

There are hundreds or even thousands (almost) indie games in shooter but sadly most of them are just lack of bold concept, ending up as a copy of each other. Luftrausers, an improved sequel, shows that again arcade is a matter of concept not a copy. Challenging those highly advanced, complex and realistic games with a technologically-not-challenging game is unfavorable except for those pretentious hippies.

Dogfighting game that has amazing control, animation and sound effect is also equipped with an unique mechanic yet not a gimmick. Customization is one trick, silly name is another trick. Sunset-like Sepia palette against silhouette foreground is an effective art style yet easy for the artist to manage. Cleverness is probably the first thing I smell from the video and the prequel.

BUNPI! - Bleed

It is not that my life is getting busier but I just could not find any interesting game recently
well, I am back now!

While I am already tired of so called awesome action platformer, the fluidity of Bleed from Bootdisk Revolution is kind of awesome enough to let myself write something about it. And yes, adding that time slow down mechanic to fast pacing action platformer is unmistakably clever.

At first, I was mistaken this as another action platformer that has 'bleed' word too on the title, and turn out that I didn't regret it. Bleed is another action platformer with a gun yet it looks fun. Borrowing overused mechanic that is being used by most of modern FPS or bullet hell shooter is smart. I could not even imagine that no one actually ever implement this before instead developer only keep adding more guns in it and poorly written background story which I will not even care.

While the details are not yet released, it seems that this game is just focusing on fluidity of the game that makes it fun to play. I wish they have an interesting story in this game because I love interesting story. And they might need to revise their graphic because I am pretty sure they could be better.

or maybe, I am not just a fan of cartoonish graphic.
